“A very relaxed and friendly weekend with plenty of stuff to get involved in. Each year gets better.” UKCPA Symposia delegate
Our events allow our members to access education and professional development, and network with colleagues and experts at a cost-effective rate. We run a number of regular educational events to help members maintain their professional education and development. These events come in various formats to suit your needs, including Masterclasses, symposia, webinars and an intensive weekend school. Take a look at our events calendar for what’s happening in your area.
Quarterly newsletter ‘In Practice’
Our newsletter reports the activities of UKCPA and its Groups, conference proceedings, Masterclasses reports, and profession-wide news items. This is mailed to your postal address and is a great way for you to catch up with what your Association has been up to, both professionally and socially (with the pictures to prove it!). Articles highlight topical clinical pharmacy issues and a round up of UKCPA activity and events.
e-bulletin ‘In Focus‘
Our UKCPA members are extremely active and this is an ideal way of keeping you up-to-date with what’s going on. Produced six times a year, this bulletin will keep you regularly informed of activities and developments, and celebrates the achievements of individual members. This more responsive communication is emailed to our members and has embedded weblinks to direct you to more information.
Recognition by your peers
UKCPA members (and GHP members where it is a joint award) have the exclusive ability to apply for several prestigious awards which confer prizes of up to £1500 and offer peer recognition of excellence in clinical pharmacy practice. These are presented at symposia or a relevant Masterclass, and award winners are also invited to present either an oral communication or poster of their winning work at a UKCPA conference. Take a look at our Awards page for up-to-date information.
Continuing professional development
UKCPA’s educational events provide ideal opportunities to fulfil your CPD requirements. Each event such as a Masterclass or conference workshop is matched to a competency level from the Advanced to Consultant Level Framework, allowing you to identify which event is right for you and your career development.
