Professional curricula development

Professional Curricula Group terms of reference | Process of developing and validating a curricula
Letter for requesting external validation

UKCPA and its specialist Groups have been involved in developing professional curricula for their specialist areas for some time. UKCPA are now working in partnership with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and other specialist pharmacy groups as part of the Professional Curricula Group (PCG).

The remit of the PCG is to:

  • Develop professional curricula for advancing practice across pharmacy disciplines
  • Coordinate support for pharmacists to develop and advance across all sectors mapping against levels of practice

The terms of reference for the PCG are available here

In addition to the main PCG meetings, which will be held every 4 months to ratify and review curricula and advise on processes, there are smaller Curriculum Support Groups (CSG). The CSGs will also be held every 4 months and will provide a forum for advice and support for practitioner groups developing their own curricula.

If you are unsure of how to start, have a look at this document which clearly outlines the process from start to finish.
